Pupu ʻŌlepelepe handpicked on the North Shore of Oahu. Cleaned, sorted, drilled and sewn into a lei humupapa.
I sew each 'Ōlepe shell 6 times to felt, and I tie each shell off individually so repairs needed in the future will not cause a whole row to be redone. It takes much longer to do it my way but it pays off when one shell needs to be replaced.
